Anime Clubs

Cameron Village Anime Club
Club meetings on select Tuesdays: Aug. 25th, Sept. 22nd, Oct. 27th, and Nov. 17th @ 4:00-5:30 pm.

Special Sunday Screenings: Sept. 27th, Oct. 18th, and Dec. 6th @ 2:00-4:00 pm.

Anime Club is a group for teens in grades 6 to 12.  We have regular meetings once a month to discuss anime, share fanart, and watch anime episodes.  This fall we’ll have special screenings on select Sundays.   To be added to our e-newsletter list or register for a meeting contact Nicole at 919-856-6723.

All this fall we’ll be watching Princess Resurrection!  Werewolves, demons, monsters, vampires – all of these ferocious creatures are afraid of the same thing: the beautiful Princess Hime, an awesome warrior who fights off the forces off evil with a chainsaw and a smile. Not only does she look great in a tiara, but she has magical powers that allow her to raise the dead. She’s a girl on a mission, and with the help of her undead servant and a super-cute robot, there’s no creature of darkness she can’t take down!  Please note that this title is rated 13 and up by Sentai Filmworks.  It will also be shown in Japanese with English subtitles due to the unavailability of an English dub.

kaze01Our next meeting is Sunday, November 15th, from 2-4 pm. This month, we will watch Kaze No Stigma.  The series is rated TV14, and the event is open to ages 13 and up.

Kazuma is no stranger to the bitter chill of defeat. Once an heir to the magical Kannagi Clan, he was blown from the ancestral tree by an upstart cousin six years his junior. His lack of fire for the family business didn’t sit well with his old man, so Kazuma was banished from the clan. But now he’s back, risen from the ashes cooler than ever and armed with a powerful new mojo that’s sure to fan the flames of rivalry. Wind magic is the flavor of the hour, and Kazuma plans on using it to settle some old scores. It won’t be easy, but this cold blooded Romeo has a few tricks – and maybe a tornado or two – up his sleeve.

Is there an anime or manga club at the North Regional Branch?

  5. katrinaen Says:

It looks like Cameron Village Library and Holly Springs Library are the only branches (so far) with Anime Clubs. I don’t know what the folks at North Regional have on their plates, but it might not hurt to talk to one of the youth services staff members to see if they are thinking of starting one. Offer to help! We love volunteers!
