This book is about 13-year-old Isabelle whose life is far from perfect. She has an eating disorder, a “snitching” sister, a depressed mom, and worst of all, a dead father. A girl from her school, Ashley, seems to have a perfect life, but when Isabelle sees her at her eating disorder group and they become friends, Isabelle begins to see otherwise.

Wake Forest Reads: The Unforgiving Minute by Craig Mullaney

I was really impressed with this book. It was hard to stop reading. I love the way the author describes his experiences with the Army Rangers. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the military.

Wake Forest Reads: The Murder of Bindy MacKenzie by Jaclyn Moriarty

The Murder of Bindy MacKenzie was a great book. It was in a teen’s view and had the element of surprise. She joins a group to help connect with her peers and hates it! She discovers a mystery in the school and you have to read the rest to find out what happens.

Wake Forest Reads: Trigger by Susan Vaught

Trigger is about a boy called Jersey who tried to shoot himself but instead loses his memory and most of his motor skills. He finds out his best friend hates him and no one really understands what he did. Jersey’s story only begins when he tries to make it stop.

Wake Forest Reads: Dreamhunter by Elizabeth Knox

Dream Hunter is about two cousins and the mystery of “the Place”. At their Try, Laura makes it there but her cousin Rose is left behind. Laura’s father then goes missing and she must go into the Place to find him. Read it!

Wake Forest Reads: Hero by Perry Moore

The book was really interesting. Thorn was a misfit where he lived and he thought his father thought he was weird too. He had also figured out he could heal people so he tried out for the League of Heroes. In the story he is finding himself too.

In this book a girl named Juliana moves from sunny California to the gloomy town of Blackthorn, England. She’s upset about leaving her father and friends, and not knowing anyone in Blackthorn except her mother and siblings. Her mother’s friend Liza is murdered shortly after they arrive and Juliana is determined to find the killer. But will the killer find her first?

This is a great book. If you wanted to read it, you’d have to read earlier books in the series, but they’re great too. These books are about four clans of cats (Shadow Clan, Thunder Clan, River Clan, and Wind Clan) living together. It may sound strange but these books are very interesting. This book revolves around a big secret. If you want to find out what the secret is, read Warriors: Power of Three: Sunrise.
