Today is the first day of Teen Tech Week! This national initiative’s purpose is to draw attention to teens and technology, ensuring that teens are capable, competent and ethical users of technology, whether it is computers, iPods, or cell phones. We especially want to promote technology that teens can use at Wake County Public Libraries! That’s why we’re offering a Scavenger Hunt Challenge! We want to introduce you to some of the fabulous resources available through your local library.
So, here’s the deal: we want you to put your computer skills to work and solve our tech scavenger hunt challenge! There are lots of ways to win great tech prizes all week long! Enter your answers to questions about the Libraries’ website and the Teen Blog each day, Monday through Friday, and you will be eligible for a daily drawing to win an iPod Shuffle or iPod Classic. If you enter the correct answer to a literary word jumble at the end of the week, you will be entered in a drawing for the grand prize, an XBOX 360!
Visit Flip the Switch: Teens aWake every day this week for your questions and for the link to enter your answers!
Here’s a quick rundown of the rules for the contest:
- Contestants must be 12-18 years old and must be residents of Wake County, NC.
- One entry per contestant per day.
- One prize per contestant. Four iPod Shuffles and one iPod Classic will be awarded to daily winners. One XBOX 360 will be awarded at the conclusion of the contest, based on correct entries for the word jumble. Winners’ names will be drawn randomly from correct entries.
- Entries for each day’s question(s) must be received by midnight to be eligible for prize drawings.
Have fun with the challenge, and good luck!
