What’s Teen Tech Week?

It’s a celebration of all things tech! According to YALSA, on average, 8–18-year-olds spend 6 hours and 21 minutes per day using media (including TV, video/DVDs/movies, video games, audio media, computers and print media).

What was this contest all about?

Teens around Wake County completed the Teen Tech Week TXTing Word Search and turned it to their local library.  They were entered into a drawing for a $15 iTunes gift card at the library and a county-wide grand prize drawing for Skullcandy headphones.

Anything else I should know?

The Friends of the Wake County Public Libraries sponsored this program by donating all of the prizes. Thank you, Friends! To learn more about the Friends, or to become a Friend of the library, click here. YALSA is the short for Young Adult Library Services Association, which sponsors teen programs on a national scale, such as Teen Tech Week, Teen Read Week, and Teens’ Top Ten. Wake County celebrates all three of these programs each year.

If you don’t see your library listed, this means that no completed word searches were turned in at that branch.  Next time, you could turn in one and get the prize!
