Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

This book is about a 14 year old boy genius named Artemis Fowl. He has beaten the world’s best chess player, sent doctors who interview him to their own hospitals, and much more. He also heads a criminal empire that goes from the alleys of Tokyo to the Kola Peninsula. And he has a plan that will earn him millions and will send the world into cross-species war.

For fairies live underground in numbers unimaginable. They have high-tech weaponry that can fry brain cells and live in huge underground urban cities. For centuries they have escaped detection by humans, but now that will change. Artemis has discovered their existence and will stop at nothing to expose them and earn millions of dollars.

The book is an awesome thriller. It shows high-tech gadgets and weaponry. There are stunning combat descriptions and beasts. Even though it starts off a bit slow, the action gets faster and faster with each page turned. You can almost imagine yourself in the battle scenes. Overall, this book is an 8 out of 10.
