Teens’ Top Ten 2010: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Shiver, by Maggie Stiefvater, is one of the Teens’ Top Ten Nominations for 2010

As a young girl, Grace was pulled from her tire swing by a pack of wolves—and survived. Ever since, she’s been fascinated by the wolves that live in the forest behind her Minnesota home, especially the one with yellow eyes. Could it be just a dream that he saved her on that terrifying day?
Now, Grace is seventeen and wonders about the boy who works in the bookstore, the one with the odd-colored eyes. Sam is a human during the summer, but in the winter, he loses himself in wolf form. At eighteen years old, he knows that it will not be long before he remains a wolf permanently. How can he stop this relentless process and stay with Grace forever?
