Teens’ Top Ten 2010: Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler

Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler is one of the Teens’ Top Ten Nominations for 2010.
Anna and Frankie have been best friends for years. As they get ready to visit Zanzibar Bay with Frankie’s family, Frankie is determined that their summer trip will provide the perfect opportunity for shy Anna to have her first summer romance. What Frankie doesn’t know –and what Anna is terrified to tell her – is that Anna has already had a summer romance, with Frankie’s brother, Matt. Anna and Matt were about to let everyone know about their relationship last summer when Matt died tragically in a car accident.
Anna has spent the last year privately grieving for her first love, and she’s not quite sure she’s ready to move on. Will Zanzibar Bay (and the many boys there) help her forget about Matt? Or will the trip reveal secrets she’d rather keep hidden?
Twenty Boy Summer is the perfect summer read. A beach setting and a tragic romance? What more could you ask for?
