Movie Review: The Green Hornet

This movie has now become my #1 favorite movie of all time.

I first went to see it with my friends because of Jay Chou (who plays Kato in this movie). You may have seen my earlier post about Mandopop. Jay Chou (or 周杰伦) is known as the “king of Mandopop”, and he is super super famous in Asian countries. When I first heard that he was going to act in this movie with Seth Rogen (who plays Britt Reid), I knew I had to go watch it. And I was not the least bit disappointed.

Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) is a party king whose father owns The Daily Sentinel. After his father dies from an allergic reaction to a bee sting, the whole company is handed down to Britt, who has no idea how to run a newspaper. Meanwhile, he discovers Kato (Jay Chou), who is an talented coffee maker and an

Kato (Jay Chou) confronts Britt (Seth Rogen) after Britt humiliates him in front of Lenore (Cameron Diaz).

even more talented mechanic and martial arts master. Together, they become the Green Hornet and his Unnamed Sidekick, and, without knowing it, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz) becomes their mastermind. But unlike other superheroes, they do bad…to do good.

This movie combines action, suspense, and comedy perfectly. One moment you’re laughing, the next you’re hanging onto the edge of your seat. The plotline was great and easy to follow. AND GREAT SPECIAL EFFECTS.

After falling headfirst into a trap, Kato (Jay Chou) and Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) run for it.

Movie is rated PG13 for a reason 🙂 Mostly inappropriate talk and violence. But it was an excellent movie. Go watch, and if you did, how did you like it?
