Running Out of Time by Margaret Peterson Haddix
I have read a million books in my years. Running Out of Time is a book I read years ago, but still enjoy. In this action-packed historical fiction, a normal 1840’s girl named Jessie gets the thrill of a lifetime. An outbreak of Diphtheria threatens the life of many people in Clifton.
Her mother sends her on a dangerous mission, outside of the “tourist attraction” into the twentieth century. The only question now is if the obstacles she faces will keep her from saving everyone… including herself.
I loved this book so much because the writer gives such vivid descriptions and you as the reader feel like you are right there in the book with Jessie. Luckily there is no blood, but sadly a few casualties. Anyone who loves thrilling books that are full of suspense should definitely read Running Out of Time. I promise you won’t want to lay this book down until you know what will happen at the end.
