Teens’ Top Ten 2011: Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver is one of the Teens’ Top Ten nominations for 2011.

Have you ever wished you could live your day over again–have the opportunity to go back and change all the things you did wrong or make the good things even better. Popular senior, Samantha Kingston, gets that chance when fate changes her life completely. Sam starts Cupid’s Day thinking that all the right things will happen. Why wouldn’t they?

After all, it’s senior year, and Sam and her three best friends are the “it” girls of their class. Samantha will get her roses, hang with her friends, and maybe spend a special evening with her boyfriend.  But, in one quick moment, Sam’s life is never the same. A terrible car wreck changes everything for her and her friends. But fate has another twist for Samantha.  She gets the chance to go back and alter all the things about that one day that are wrong.  Samantha Kingston must live Cupid’s Day over and over until she finally gets things right. Over the course of 7 days, she struggles to understand who she is and why she makes the choices she does. Read Sam’s story and think about what you would change if you had the chance.
