Review by Jeffery, Grade 7

Full of Action and Suspense, The Roar by Emma Clayton is a superb book and is sure to astound you. The Roar is a teen novel about a vicious and horrible plague called The Animal Plague in which humans on the Earth believe that animals are to be avoided at all costs. Placed in alternate side of the world called the Wall, Mika believes there is more than just water behind the wall and frantically searches for the truth about his little sister and the society he lives in.

The Roar keeps you interested by making you analyze the character’s thoughts. The unique plot gives the story an edge and a twist like no other. This book is a good fit for 12 years old and up, due to mature themes and language. Request this from book from Wake County Libraries.
