Teen Poetry Contest: Judges and Prizes

March 5, 2012

Still working on your poems? If you haven’t finished polishing your entry for the Teen Poetry Contest, don’t worry! There’s still time! You can still review the guidelines and submit your entries here.

Small Town Sinners by Melissa Walker

If you have finished, then you may be interested to know that your poem will soon be judged by a real-life YA author. That’s right, Melissa Walker will be one of the judges tasked with reading all the submissions and choosing a winner. If you’ve submitted your poem already, why not pick up one of Melissa’s books to read while you wait? You can place a hold on them through our online catalog. You can also learn more about Melissa at her website, or follow her on Twitter!

Haven’t even started your poem? Maybe you just need a little motivation. How about some fabulous prizes? The winner of our Teen Poetry Contest will receive a $50 gift card from Empire Eats Restaurants. Love great pasta? Authentic Lebanese? Smokey BBQ? Steaming coffee? Five great restaurants means five great choices!

So get writing! Find your inspiration (and find it quick) because you’ve only got until March 15 to enter. Good luck!
