Book Review: Saving Zoe by Alyson Noel

saving zoeSaving Zoe by Alyson Noel is an amazingly well written book about a young girl named Echo who has to deal with the murder of her older sister Zoe. Zoe was one of those people who were full of life and energy and once she is gone it leaves Echo and her parents in a tragic mess. It has been one year since Zoe’s death and Echo is still suffering the loss. Echo now attends Zoe’s old highschool and is forever having to deal with the stares and whispers of her peers as she walks through the halls. But things start to get interesting when Zoe’s old boyfriend gives Echo Zoe’s diary. Echo becomes immediately trapped in Zoe’s world as she reads the diary and starts to uncover all of the secrets and lies of Zoe’s life. Read this book to discover Zoe’s real life and how Echo copes with the uncovered truths of her sister.

Beautiful and full of life, Zoe was the complete opposite of her younger sister Echo. Then suddenly, Zoe was brutally murdered. A year later, Echo is still trying to cope. Her mom is popping pills to stay numb, and her dad is never around. Emotionally she begins slipping away from her best friends Jenay and Abby. Now also dealing with high school and a new boyfriend, Echo knows that life will never be the same.

One day Zoe’s old boyfriend Marc shows up with Zoe’s diary. Echo thought she knew everything about her sister. Reading the diary, Echo learns about Zoe’s secret world. Uncovering the truth may force Echo to start rebuilding her life.
