Summer Bucket List

October 28, 2013

Since it’s almost summer, I will be cheesy and put together a summer bucket list.

  1. Lay under the stars with someone special and fall asleep.
  2. Eat $20 of frozen yogurt in one sitting.
  3. Watch a meteor shower.
  4. Have a pillow fight.
  5. Go skydiving.
  6. Go hang gliding.
  7. Ride a hot air balloon.
  8. Walk in ocean water that’s so clear I can see my toes.
  9. Wake up to the car honks and high heel clicks of New York City.
  10. Meet a best friend.
  11. Climb down the window at night and sneak out to Bojangles.
  12. Become an important person in someone’s life.
  13. Make a kid smile.
  14. Have a chick-flick marathon.
  15. Stay in the movie theater for a whole day just watching movies.
  16. Buy a coffee for the next person in line.
  17. Get lost on purpose while driving.

And that’s my bucket list for now. What’s yours? Do you have anything you would add?

Handmade Blog: Poppytalk

July 2, 2012

I’ve recently really been into DIY and handmade stuff (I just cut up an old oversized sweatshirt from a school I don’t even go to anymore and am hoping to turn it into a cute fleece sweater with a pig on the front), and so I’ve been on the search for a good blog with ideas and projects for me to try out.

I found…Poppytalk!

Really, you can find just about any type of DIY/handmade project for any level of DIYer. There’s also a whole bunch of links to other DIY blogs and so I can literally spend hours on this blog, getting distracted by other blogs that they mention. A lot of different bloggers contribute to this blog, so it’s an amalgram of so many creative ideas together. If I feel bored, all I need to do is read through a few entries and my next project comes to mind. Read the rest of this entry »

Summer? Where did you go?

August 11, 2011

Where did summer go? Where did all this time go? There’s a little over 10 weeks of summer, and by now I have wasted 6 of them. I remember an Arthur show from when I was little and how he and Buster had a list of things to do over summer, one of them being building a rocket that would go to the moon. Arthur and Buster managed to do all of the things on their list before school. I didn’t have a list of crazy things to do over summer–no list at all actually. It never seems like you did anything meaningful over summer– fun things, yes, but meaningful? No. It doesn’t seem like it but as I look back, I realized how many wonderful things I was able to do during my summer. Read the rest of this entry »

Although we are all dreading it, the end of summer is nearing. To try and add a little bit more color into the dreariness that can be associated with going back to school, try this ocean-inspired nail design to brighten up your day!

Argentinian Exchange Trip!

July 6, 2011

Hey everyone! A month ago, I had the pleasure of attending an exchange trip to Argentina. While I was there, I was able to truly experience a new culture – from everything such as the language to the food and architecture. Some of the really interesting things I learned were – Read the rest of this entry »

Prepare for summer perfection

May 28, 2011

Students are rejoicing as May comes to an end, but do they really think they’re ready for the summer? Sure, they might be ready in the intellectual sense, but they probably don’t have the right materials to have a good summer. Here is a simple list of things you will probably need to have the most enjoyable summer possible!
