Teen Tech Week Word Search

Teen Tech Week 2010, sponsored by YALSA, is coming up soon!  This is the week that librarians celebrate teen use of technology.  To celebrate, Wake County Libraries are offering teens a chance to win an iTunes gift card worth $15.  Each library branch will choose one winner from all correct entries.  There will also be one grand prize of Skullcandy Hesh headphones, value of $49.95.  To enter, you simply visit your local Wake County library and fill out our Teen Tech Week Text Message Word Search.  Find all the text message abbreviations.  Prizes generously donated by Friends of the Wake County Public Libraries.  Contest runs from February 15-March 7, 2010.  Winners will be announced during Teen Tech Week, March 7-13, 2010.  To learn more about Teen Tech Week, visit the YALSA website.

Teen Tech Week Song Contest Winners Announced

How very cool!  YALSA has announced the winners of the Teen Tech Week original song contest.  This contest was open to teens across the country.  Contestants were asked to compose an original song about the library and technology.  Click here to hear the 4 top songs.  At the link, you can download a podcast featuring all four songs or hear the songs one at a time.  The winners were from all different genres of music.  Congrats to all the winners.  It’s amazing how talented teens are.
